"Damaris always sends us videos of our dogs walking happily with her, and moments of playing! She is very reliable, and never takes short cuts. She even cleaned out our entire fridge when we lost power while we were away on vacation! Our dogs were safe and taken care of the whole time! I highly recommend Damaris!"

About
Owner
Hello, My name is Damaris Silhavy-Dube. I have lived in Tolland all my life. I have been married to my other half since 2018, and we have one son. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and our friends. I am also a Rock Climbing coach as well. As an avid animal lover my own pets include 9 rescued cats, and a hamster all who are very much loved and spoiled.I have been pet sitting since I was 12 years of age, starting out small, caring for friends or neighbors pets in town. As the years have gone by, and word of mouth spread, I started branching out more in town, as well as surrounding towns.II went to school and became a Veterinary assistant, I went to school at Middlesex Community College, and Completed their Veterinary Assistant Certification program in August of 2014. I am Certified in pet CPR, and first aid from the American Red Cross. My work experience includes working in a few local Veterinary clinics, and working with other pet sitters in the area.

Q & A
Q. Why In Home Pet Sitting is becoming more Popular?
A. Most pets are happiest when at home, and are less stressed than pets who are boarded. Diet, Exercise, and overall routine remains the same while family is at work or on vacation. There are no worries of pets being exposed to illness and parasites like they could be at a boarding facility with multiple dogs. No worrying about if you forgot to close the garage, or other common worries like that. Professional Pet Sitting offers a peace of mind whether you're at work, or on vacation.Q. Do you Service outside of Tolland?
A. I have a 7mile radius that I cover. Anything outside of this radius there is a travel surcharge for visits.Q. How does scheduling work?
A. Visits are a first come first serve basis.
Visits are booked in 30min time blocks throughout the day, exact times can be requested; if that time is not available I will do my best to accommodate, but never guaranteed, at most visit can be scheduled an hour before or after requested time. Any Cancelation that takes place 14 days before and up to the day of the last initial scheduled visit this will result in full charge of the invoice. Non-refundable, and non-credited.Q. Why does Pet Sitting seem so expensive?
A. Most compare pet sitting rates to that of the rates for baby sitting or house sitting, or even the next-door neighbor or boarding facility rates. There is HUGE difference between a professional pet sitter, and those doing you a favor to watch your home or pets. A Professional Pet Sitter, you are paying not just their time, but their knowledge and experience as well. In addition if you have multiple pets, professional pet sitting is more affordable, then say boarding. Plus, most professional pet sitters offer extra complimentary home care such as watering plants, getting mail/packages, and more than if your pets are simply boarded.Professional pet sitting is not an economy option as many professionals understand and may not be in everyone's budget. However, it does offer peace of mind, and convenient to have an experienced, and insured, pet first AID + CPR responsible, trusted, reliable, and dedicated individual. Professional pet sitters are your eyes and ears at your home while you are away, as well as helping to prevent emergency situations that could arise.
